PARENTS OF NICHOLAS COUTINHO
On the lines of what I had written in my earlier feedback, I firmly believe that Little Angels School did the impossible in making Nicholas change to the child that he is today. His major issues being ADHD coupled with mild autism. None of the therapies or medicines were effective. Infact I am reminded of a doctor who said that he could never see Nicholas sitting in a classroom without medication. It’s been more than a year that I have tapered off the medicine (going by my instinct) and he is doing just fine.

From the day Nicholas joined the school till date he has improved tremendously. Especially his hyperactivity besides his socializing skills and being part of a team. These skills were lacking in him. He now realizes that he should empathies when someone is hurt or in pain and on his part not to hurt another child or cause harm. All the different E.C.Activities have taught Nicholas to be more skillful and do something constructive while maintaining discipline.

The only area where Nicholas has still to grow is his communication and his comprehending skills. As a mother I have been trying my level best to improve them and I know the school as well is trying in their own way. Nicholas can understand what is going on but when it comes to expression he can’t do much. I am still working by getting picture books, books with short stories, magazines and even television to try and get him to understand the concept and put it in words. He can speak short sentences but when I ask him to explain in brief the jist of a story, he does that with great difficulty and that too not hitting the core aspect of it.

I do understand that being mildly autistic prevents Nicholas in being profient with his language skills but on the other hand he is very good in mathematics and there is no rote learning here. He grasps the concept perfectly. He can add and subtract 3 digit numbers as well as multiply upto 10. Doing this is relatively easier for him as he is able to grasp the concept clearly.
All in all I can say that when Nicholas was an erratic kid there couldn’t have been a better school than Little Angels in getting him to change to what he is today.

I am and will always be thankful to Jehangir Sir and all his team for their untiring efforts.
